Bill on Sectorial Permits
The Constitutional Court ruled out this week the admissibility of the request filed on July 7, 2025 by 42 Representatives for the unconstitutionality of certain articles of the bill passed for the Sectorial Permits Framework Law (Bulletin 16566-03). Therefore, the bill will soon be enacted and published in the Official Gazette.
In this regard, Joaquín Palma Cruzat, lawyer of our Public and Regulatory Law area, comments:
“This decision clears the way for the new rules to enter into force, marking a relevant change in the way sectorial permits are processed in Chile. For companies, this opens up opportunities to reduce time and administrative burdens, especially in projects submitted to the SEIA. But it also presents the challenge of adapting to a new regulatory framework that will require internal adjustments, regulatory follow-up and a strategic view to maximize its benefits. It will be interesting to examine the final text of the ruling, soon to be published, to learn in detail the Court’s criteria”.
