Claves para la equidad en la ley de sala cuna universal
Today, June 11 edition of DF, a specialized news outlet, published an op-ed piece on the Childcare Center bill, by Trinidad Torretti, an associate who is part of Palma’s Labor team.
According to Trinidad, the bill is a decided advance in greater labor equity by eliminating discriminatory barriers and promoting shared parental childcare, in a context in which the participation of women in the Chilean labor market is a pending challenge. However, she says, “concerns about its financing and, above all, the quality of education, as well as universal access to nursery school, are fundamental”. The project, she stresses, leaves out thousands of children of informal and public sector workers, a situation that must be rectified.
